George Reed is a award-winning scholar, educator, speaker, and self-admitted leadership junkie who serves on the faculty of one of America’s best leadership schools. He was a military officer for 27 years where he practiced leadership as a military police officer in the United States Army in positions of increasing responsibility culminating with his retirement from active duty in 2007 as a colonel. While on active duty he proudly served as a paratrooper, criminal investigations supervisor, and his last assignment was as professor and Director of Command and Leadership Studies at the United States Army War College.
He earned a Ph.D. in Public Policy Analysis and Administration from Saint Louis University, a Master of Forensic Sciences Degree from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Central Missouri.
George enjoys researching the mysteries of leadership and considers it a privilege to engage groups in and out of the classroom from multiple sectors of our society. Favorite topics for exploration include toxic leadership, leadership and self-awareness, ethics, systems thinking, creating a culture of leadership development and organizational change.
